T-mac is no doubt a talented player. His tragedy began after he was traded from Orlando to Houston, the team that has a big guy called Yao. I love him, but as always, I stand on the opposite side of the crowd. We Chinese often make negative comments on those who cannot reach our expectation. So Houston fans criticized and despised him in spite of the fact that he scores more than 28 points per game in playoffs and has made several buzzer beaters. Poor judgements are made on him after comparison with Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan. OK, I admit that Michael Jordan is the God and no one can even come close to that level. But Kobe, a rapist, not at all.
Although T-mac did not bring a championship to Houston, we should still appreciate his effort on the way to the champion. Now we've got 35s13p, 22 in a row, dunk on Bradley, and 7 games against Dallas in 2005 and against Utah without Yao. T-mac has given us more than we can memorize. What happened was just that T-mac has left Houston. I strongly believe that I can still watch him play, shoot, and win in New York, Cleveland, LA, or any other NBA team.
As to the trade, I have to say that it is not a bad deal. Houston has to renew Lowry and Scola's contracts after this season. These two guys deserves much more than they are earning now. Landry, although his contract is quite attractive, is a little overestimated this season. I do not think he can still score so easily when facing tough defenses in the paint. And then take his injuries on his knee, the trade become reasonable. And Dorsey, useless guy. We have Hayes in the defensive end. In the 10-11 season, we have four big guys, Yao, Scola, Anderson, Hayes. Maybe, Jordan Hill will also count. For small forward, Battier, Ariza. For guard, we have Brooks, Lowry, Martin, Budinger. Oh, we can expect much on these 10 guys. I believe Morey in his management and Adelman in his coaching experience. Oh, I can foresee the achievements of Houston Rockets in 2011!
What about 2010? Let's just wait and see whether Yi and New Jersey can break the NBA record of most loses in an entire season. In my point of view, they can make it. New Jersey, GO GO GO.
